Project description:

We consider a large distributed system with multimedia capabilities that has to serve thousands of client connections. The main problems that are addressed by this project are the following:

• Client distribution in multicast group communications
• Bandwidth management of live streaming
• Client connection redistribution
• Self-managing distributed systems

The system consists of the following components:

• Multimedia services - used to forward data between clients;
• Client applications - used as service consumers;
• Monitoring services - used to monitor multimedia services and to implement client distribution algorithms.
